SECOND PART:

La Bayadera Suite – Choreography by Marius Petipa’ – Music by Ludwig Minkus
La Bayadère is one of the many ‘exotic’ spectacular productions created by the French-Russian ballet master Marius Petipa between 1860 and 1880, but it is the only one that has stood the test of time. This is mainly because the love story filled with intrigues, jealousy, deceit and regret, which is situated in India, also contains extraordinarily pure classical dance, which gives the dancers every opportunity to shine. According to Makarova, on the one hand La Bayadère is a perfect example of pure classicism, while on the other it is so contemporary that it will continue forever: ‘The themes of love, passion, betrayal and revenge are timeless and will always appeal to people’.

Swan Lake Act III – Black Swan  Pas de deux – Choreography by Marius Petipa – Music by Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky
The tragic love story of “Swan Lake” is about a princess turned into a swan by an evil sorcerer’s curse. During the day she must swim as a swan in a lake of tears. At night she may be human again, but her spell can only be broken by a prince who swears his eternal fidelity to her. This dance will be performed by the world renown dancers Adiarys Almeida and Taras Domitro.

Don Quijote Grand Pas de deux – Choreography by Marius Petipa – Music by Ludwig Minkus
Don Quixote is originally a ballet in four acts and eight scenes. It was choreographed by Marius Petipa to the music of Ludwig Minkus.Don Quixote, the nonsensical nobleman who sets out on a quest with his squire Sancho Panza, gallops across Old World Spain in a rendition of the classical ballet based on the novel by Miguel de Cervantes.Acclaimed for its breathtakingly virtuoso dancing, eye-popping costumes and the sheer energy and exuberance of the production as a whole, Don Quixote, with its famously bravura Act III pas de deux and infectious ebullience, is wonderfully entertaining. This dance will be performed, among others, by the Jeoffrey Ballet Principal Miguel Angel Blanco and Serena Sovdsnes from the Cincinnati Ballet.
